Review & Swatches: Finally Found my HG eyeliner – Leanani Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner

About a year back, my friend from Hong Kong was asking if I could help her buy an eyeliner that she’s been using.  At that time, I didn’t pay much attention to this product, however a few months ago another friend asked me to do the same, so I finally decided to look into it a bit more…

AND…I realised this Leanani Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner has been a hit product for a while, SO…I couldn’t help getting it~

FINALLY…I found my HG eyeliner!! That’s basically my story with this eyeliner XD Here comes the review (sorry for the wait…)

If you have read my posts before, you may remember that most gel eyeliners (Maybelline/Kate)  tend to transfer to my upper eyelid, and Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide-on eye pencil / NYX eyeliners smudge on me.

So I am reviewing this product based on my 1) asian, 2) eyeliners easily smudged/transferred eyes~

I bought the black one, and this product is also available in brown (which I’m going to buy soooon!) The black is really black (see picture), and with the fine tip, you can draw thin line easily but I prefer a bit thicker line.

It’s really easy to use, and with its fine tip, it’s very good for any flick/wing you would like to draw.

And it lasts pretty much all day, I really don’t have to worry about reapplying at all (but having said that, it’s been winter here, will see how it works out through the summer!)

Finally, I know it’s too much to ask for, but the ease of removing it is also pretty important to me…This eyeliner is soooo easy to remove, please check the video to see how it is~

About the brand, Leanani is a Japanese brand, definitely not the major cosmetic brands in Japan, I hadn’t heard about this brand until my friend told me about, and this brand is not available everywhere, the easiest way is to get it online.
Color 10/10

Usage 9/10

Lasting 9/10

Ease of removal 10/10

Price 7/10

For the beauty lovers out there, I know it can be difficult to get Japanese products sometimes, a while back I started an online shop selling japanese products, so feel free to check it out if you are interested in this product!

Hair/ Body/ Skincare products I used before my wedding♥Loreal/Essential/House of Rose/Apivita

Just like many of you, I tried my best to look best on my wedding.

Which means not only what makeup you use on your big day, it also means how well you prepare yourself to be in the best condition!
Luckily, my skin wasn’t so bad I didn’t have to put too much effort to “repair”, however my hair wasn’t horrible! The ends are dry and split (,,-`_●-) but I didn’t wanna get a haircut cause I would like my hair to be as long as possible.
SO! There I found two products that definitely saved my hair from being the worst!!
And today I am going to introduce these products!

Review: Purity Organic Skincare – Conditioning Cleansing Lotion

2012-07-10 15.44.54

I have been wanting to write a review for this for so long (half of the post was sitting in draft for months!!), so finally here it is!

This is the very first product I bought after I started to fall in love with makeup 😀

And this is also a brand mentioned in one of MUA Lisa Eldridge’s video!! So it has to be good! Continue reading

Suqqu Beauty Show – Spring/Summer Collection

Last week when I was surfing the net randomly, I realized Suqqu was doing a beauty show the next day! Since I was in the neighbourhood and the time was perfect, I decided to stop by and check out their Spring/Summer collection.

And luckily, their makeup artist had some times to spare, and he did a quick makeup on me!
I have had experiences at other brand’s beauty counter but it wasn’t so pleasant, because they put way too many products on my face and caused breakouts (read my posts here) but Suqqu didn’t! I have been wanting to try a couple of their products, and I’m glad I did, because they are so pricey and I don’t know when I’ll be able to buy them…

Most of the products I have tried are new in their Spring/Summer collection.

1) Blend colour eyeshadow

~The colours are really pretty, and it’s quite long lasting

2) Creamy Grow Lipstick Moist in EX-08 Sangodama

~It’s a really pretty colour. Suqqu beauty advisor said this lipstick is really moisturising, we don’t need lip balm before using it. It’s kinda like an all-in-one lipstick. I think the lipstick is very moisturising, and it seems to be very popular because I heard it was sold out already.

3) Face Color Palette

~A very beautiful palette, the color is very light so perfect for a natural look.

4) Eyeliner creamy in Navy

~Long lasting, didn’t crease on me at all.

5) Balancing Eyebrow & Eyebrow Liquid Pen

20130226-6 20130226-7

~The colours are very natural, and the liquid pen is good for drawing missing brows

After trying a couple of products from Suqqu, not all the products are worth the price, so if you are interested in this Suqqu, I remember the followings:

1) Suqqu brushes – definitely best of the best, feels like air! It’s on top of my shopping list~

2) Their foundations (See my review here)

3) eyebrow liquid pen, not many makeup brands offer this kind of product, it would be useful if you wanna fill in your missing brows and still look natural.

Quick Review on my 2nd Hawaii Beauty Haul♡

So I went to Hawaii again during my new year vacation, the most exciting part of the trip was definitely shopping!!!

Unlike last time, I didn’t have too many things on the list to buy (as I have already bought too much last time!), but still it would be hard not to buy anything in such a paradise!

Anyway, here is the list, and a quick review on it!

1) Laura Mercier – Secret Concealer for under eye, I was still looking for a good concealer that has good coverage and moisturising, so I went to Sephora and asked one of the beauty advisor to see if they could surprise me with anything, and they did! She introduced this secret concealer, she applied on it, and instantly my dark circle was gone (almost), definitely way better than what I have been using (Garnier tinted roll-on, Lancome Effacernes), and at USD22, I didn’t even think twice! So now I have been using it for a few weeks, I still love it! Great coverage, it’s not drying, however since it’s really creamy, that means you may have to reapply it during the day, there are 6 shades in this product, so it would be easy to find the right one for yourself!

2) Laura Mercier – Secret Camouflage, many professional makeup artists and beauty lovers are loving this product, so I guess if I wanna be in the industry, I’ll have to try it out! Many said it’s a great concealer for blemishes, I totally agree, because it is definitely too dry for undereye. Also, this concealer is a little difficult to work with, it is so dry that many recommend using your finger to warm it up first, but then for spot concealing, using finger to apply may cover areas more than necessary. But with the amount of product, you have enough to train yourself up! I currently use an eyeliner brush to apply to small spots, Laura Mercier also sells a brush for this product! There are 8 shades for you to choose from (USD30)

3) MAC – Eyebrows crayon pour les sourcils in Lingering, this is probably the most popular shade in the line, as recommended by Lisa Eldridge, this magical color actually suits many different skin tones, from dark brows to light brows. I love the color, its very natural and soft, probably the best brow colour I have owned so far. I was actually looking for the pencil one, but unfortunately the MAC shop i went to didn’t carry the pencil type anymore. Basically the shade is exactly the same, the difference is I guess for some people crayon is much easier because you don’t need to sharpen it from time to time, and it’s really easy to apply. However the crayon type is not retractable, so may sure you don’t roll up too much of the product. (USD15)

4) YSL – Touche Eclat Radiant Touch in 2, of course! Who doesn’t have it? (Well, I didn’t) Again, this is a really popular product, so I couldn’t wait to see the magic it does. It’s a highlight pen, but many people use it as concealer as well. Its texture is really light, you can use it undereye, and it disappear instantly! For some people, their dark circle disappears at the same time! For me, it’s not quite enough, but I love using it after secret concealer, and around my mouth. I don’t see a huge difference in person, but on picture it does help! (USD40)

5) Urban Decay – 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil Set (6 colours), I bought it coz I was looking for something that doesn’t crease on me, more precisely, an eyeliner that doesn’t transfer to my undereye after an hour or two. So I went to Sephora and asked for advice, the beauty advisor told me to use a primer (a must she said), so she did apply primer, and the glide-on eye pencil in Zero (very black) on me. It looked great, I like it a lot. So I bought it even with the risk on it still creasing on me, because it was only USD24 for 6 colors! A few hours later, yes it did crease on me a little. The next day I tried it again, it creased on me even more (yay!) It creases/transfers even with a primer…but other than that, I think it’s a lovely product, because the black is really black, and other colors are beautiful too. So this is great for people who doesn’t have any problem with any eyeliners!

The colours included in this set are Mainline (Blue), Empire (Purple), Smog (Golden brown), Demolition (Brown), Zero (Black), Uzi (Grey) -> Swatches to come in future post 🙂

6) Body Shop – Liquid Eyeliner in 02 (Brown), I bought this coz I once tried my friend’s black version of it, it looked great so I wanted the brown. However, the applicator is much harder to control than I thought. My friend has been using her for years, and she applied it for me. SO I guess it will take me a while to practice using it. Other than that, it’s an ok eyeliner, not outstanding…repurchase? Maybe not. (USD13.5)    6

Review: Garnier Youthful Radiance Caffeine Anti-Dark Circles 2 in 1 Tinted Eye Roll-On

It’s been a while since I’ve purchased this product, and its actually one of the very first product I bought since my little crush on makeup started!

I bought it because I have puffy eyes and dark circle (it’s actually more red than dark), and its really a bonus that its tinted, so I actually use it as my undereye concealer!
At first, I didn’t really have much to say, its cooling, kinda fun to roll it under eyes but you can’t roll too much since it’s tinted…
But recently I have really grown to love this product!!!
First of all, its really handy! All you need to do is to roll it on…it feels very light but at the same time it gives medium coverage^^
It’s a moisturizer so it’s not drying at all! Compare with all other concealers I have used, this one is the most moisturizing and it doesn’t settle into fine lines under eyes!!
AND… Its cheap! So I am really happy about this product and will definitely repurchase!
I use it almost everyday! Its a must in my 5-min makeup rountine!
Shade: Fair Skin Tone (There are 4 shades you can choose from: Very Fair, Fair, Medium to Medium Dark, Dark)
This is how the product look, a thin long tube like any other roll-on, very easy to hold and use.
I have been using this for a while now, so the product leaked a little, maybe because I carry it wherever I go…
Here is the swatch, on the left, since it is a it is quite watery and thin, however once you blended it out, the coverage is actually pretty good!
For someone with only a little bit to cover, this would be a perfect and handy product.
However, if you require heavy coverage, you may need to use foundation or another concealer on top of this.
What I love:
1) how it’s thin, but still provide good coverage
2) how it feels when applying it, the cooling effect is quite comforting
3) the PRICE! I bought it off feel, they ship for free internationally, and they sell it for £8.65 (now the Dark Skin Tone one is on sale for £6.61 check it out)
What could be better:
1) It’s not as long lasting as I would like it, if I want the same coverage throughout the day, I may have to reapply 2 to 3 times.
I hope this is helpful! Have a great day♡

Review: Sigma Beauty Dry’n Shape

About two weeks ago, I realized Sigma Beauty was doing Black Friday Free Worldwide shipping, so I immediately made my first purchase there, and chose a few products that would be useful, I ordered a two brushes, and this Dry’n Shape, I was really excited about it! And a little more than a week, it arrived! With a little gift inside (eyeliner brush) **happy** I haven’t used those brushes yet, so this review is for the Dry’n Shape!

What is “Dry’n Shape”? (Description from Sigma Beauty Website)

The Dry’n Shape was specially designed to completely dry and shape your most dense brushes within 4 to 6 hours, guaranteed. The Dry’n Shape provides the necessary pressure to bristles to re-shape them while quickly and efficiently removing water from every bristle. It is an easy, quick, and effective way to quickly dry and shape your makeup brushes.
Follow these three easy steps for best results:
STEP 1: Wash your brushes using a mild shampoo or brush cleanser.
STEP 2: Gently press the bristles to remove any excess water. Place the clean, damp brushes into the Dry’n Shape using the smallest band the brush will fit into. Make sure that all bristles are firmly compressed.
STEP 3: Wait 4 to 6 hours and your brushes will be completely dry and ready to use! In addition to being completely dry, the bristles will be reshaped to their original form.

I was really tempted since I don’t have enough brushes, I really need my brushes to dry first so I could use it for my classes. At USD32, I thought it was worth trying.

It came in a paper box, I do love their packaging, it makes you feel like your money is well spent!

Yesterday, I used it for the first time, I can’t wait to do a review today, so my comment may change over time, but I will definitely keep everyone updated in case my thoughts change 😉

So the size of Dry’n Shape is actually quite like brush roll, maybe a little bigger. I believe it could fit most brushes, except that I have a couple of Body Shop brushes, which is actually designed to allow it to be self-standing, so the bottom is really wide, thus it was a little difficult to fit.

Closed – W: 9 in. H: 5 7/16 in. (W: 23.5 cm H:13.8 cm)
Open – W: 16 5/8 in. H: 9 3/8 (W: 42.5 cm H:23.8 cm)
I was really hoping my brushes could dry within 4-6 hours, unfortunately this morning (more than 15 hours after I washed it), the brushes were still a little wet. (I live in Japan, now is winter so the summer humidity is gone) So that part was a little disappointing, but the shaping is not bad.

How the brushes look after 😀

A closer look…

UNFORTUNATELY…I found that one of the thread is already coming off…this is a sad sad minus, since I have only used it once…

drynshape6 drynshape5

Overall, I was really excited about this purchase, however it doesn’t work as good as I expected. I don’t regret buying it, because I am going to use it as a brush roll as well.

In short,

1) It doesn’t dry within 4 to 6 hours (Winter in Japan with windows closed)

2) It does shape my brushes

3) The quality of the roll is not bad except the thread that came off

4) US32 is not expensive

Thanks for reading, I hope this review is helpful ^^
