Review & Swatches: Finally Found my HG eyeliner – Leanani Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner

About a year back, my friend from Hong Kong was asking if I could help her buy an eyeliner that she’s been using.  At that time, I didn’t pay much attention to this product, however a few months ago another friend asked me to do the same, so I finally decided to look into it a bit more…

AND…I realised this Leanani Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner has been a hit product for a while, SO…I couldn’t help getting it~

FINALLY…I found my HG eyeliner!! That’s basically my story with this eyeliner 😄 Here comes the review (sorry for the wait…)

If you have read my posts before, you may remember that most gel eyeliners (Maybelline/Kate)  tend to transfer to my upper eyelid, and Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide-on eye pencil / NYX eyeliners smudge on me.

So I am reviewing this product based on my 1) asian, 2) eyeliners easily smudged/transferred eyes~

I bought the black one, and this product is also available in brown (which I’m going to buy soooon!) The black is really black (see picture), and with the fine tip, you can draw thin line easily but I prefer a bit thicker line.

leanani

It’s really easy to use, and with its fine tip, it’s very good for any flick/wing you would like to draw.

And it lasts pretty much all day, I really don’t have to worry about reapplying at all (but having said that, it’s been winter here, will see how it works out through the summer!)

Finally, I know it’s too much to ask for, but the ease of removing it is also pretty important to me…This eyeliner is soooo easy to remove, please check the video to see how it is~

About the brand, Leanani is a Japanese brand, definitely not the major cosmetic brands in Japan, I hadn’t heard about this brand until my friend told me about, and this brand is not available everywhere, the easiest way is to get it online.
Color 10/10

Usage 9/10

Lasting 9/10

Ease of removal 10/10

Price 7/10

When “Gorgeous” is not enough to desrcibe: Les Merveilleuses Laduree

I have been wanting to introduce this brand for so long, as usual…it took me quite a while to actually get to it (>.<)

So as most of you may have heard of the brand – Laduree, a well-known French Patisserie Brand. But I am not introducing their macaron (I know how much girls love them!), I am going to introduce their makeup brand!! (Yes, something we all love!!)

Les Merveilleuses Laduree is a relatively new brand – launched in Jan 2012, the makeup company behind this is Albion (which also has Anna Sui, Paul & Joe on their brand list). When I first saw their makeup, it literally took my breath away…it’s so pretty…gorgeous…stunning…, I can’t find the right word to describe it. I would dream of having all of their products sitting on my dresser! However, the dream won’t come true so soon because this brand is really really expensive!

So girls, picture time!!!

Suqqu Beauty Show – Spring/Summer Collection

20130226-1

Last week when I was surfing the net randomly, I realized Suqqu was doing a beauty show the next day! Since I was in the neighbourhood and the time was perfect, I decided to stop by and check out their Spring/Summer collection.

And luckily, their makeup artist had some times to spare, and he did a quick makeup on me!
I have had experiences at other brand’s beauty counter but it wasn’t so pleasant, because they put way too many products on my face and caused breakouts (read my posts here) but Suqqu didn’t! I have been wanting to try a couple of their products, and I’m glad I did, because they are so pricey and I don’t know when I’ll be able to buy them…

Most of the products I have tried are new in their Spring/Summer collection.

1) Blend colour eyeshadow

20130226-2

~The colours are really pretty, and it’s quite long lasting

2) Creamy Grow Lipstick Moist in EX-08 Sangodama

20130226-3

~It’s a really pretty colour. Suqqu beauty advisor said this lipstick is really moisturising, we don’t need lip balm before using it. It’s kinda like an all-in-one lipstick. I think the lipstick is very moisturising, and it seems to be very popular because I heard it was sold out already.

3) Face Color Palette

20130226-4

~A very beautiful palette, the color is very light so perfect for a natural look.

4) Eyeliner creamy in Navy

~Long lasting, didn’t crease on me at all.

20130226-5

5) Balancing Eyebrow & Eyebrow Liquid Pen

20130226-6 20130226-7

~The colours are very natural, and the liquid pen is good for drawing missing brows

After trying a couple of products from Suqqu, not all the products are worth the price, so if you are interested in this Suqqu, I remember the followings:

1) Suqqu brushes – definitely best of the best, feels like air! It’s on top of my shopping list~

2) Their foundations (See my review here)

3) eyebrow liquid pen, not many makeup brands offer this kind of product, it would be useful if you wanna fill in your missing brows and still look natural.

Thanksgiving shopping♥NYX♥Cherry Culture

Actually, we don’t really have Thanksgiving day here in Japan. I have only spent one thanksgiving in the US (when I was in college), so I really didn’t pay much attention to this day…

However, this year ever since I started makeup, I have been doing a lot of shopping online, all over the world as well… And Thanksgiving quickly became my favorite time of the year! Since so many online shops are doing Black Friday & Thanksgiving Sale **excited**

So today, I decided it’s about time to add a little more colors to my lipstick collection, all I have are all natural/nude colors which are very pigmented. As I would like to be able to do more looks in the future, I chose a few colors from NYX to start off with, with an additional 20% on their already cheap price, I couldn’t be happier!! And I bought a few more for my friend who is a makeup artist in Japan, hope she’ll like it ♥

So here is what I ordered:

For myself♥

Round lipstick: Haute Melon
Xtreme lip cream – Dolly girl
Round lipstick: Pure Red
Round lipstick: Tea Rose

For my friend♥

Black Label: Cancun Pink
Matte: Audrey
Matte: Indie Flick

What’s your favorite NYX lip color?

The 20% off on everything on Cherryculture.com will last until Nov 25, so hurry if there’s something you want!

My first order from Sigma Beauty♥Free Worldwide Shipping♥

Finally, I made my first order from Sigma Beauty!!!…like 10 mins ago~ So I can’t wait to share this with you girls ^^

I have been hearing a lot about their brushes, and I notice they adjusted their prices so their brushes are a little more expensive now! But then, it still pretty reasonable I think! So I decided to give it a try ^^

At the beginning of October, I got quite a few brushes from my school (Kanebo♥), but soon I realized it’s not quite enough! I need a blending brush, and I wanna try out other lip brush as well~ So to start off I just ordered 2 brushes, E35 – Tapered Blending & L05 – Lip! I notice they have two tapered blending brush E35 and E40, I did some research and the difference is really just the size, so I decided to go for the smaller one – E35, since I am asian and a smaller one would be better for blending.

And I ordered one more thing, Dry’n Shape! A brush roll-like that is supposed to dry brushes quickly, since I still don’t have that many brushes, so I really need my brushes to dry quickly, at USD32 I thought I could give it a try, coz I can use it as brush roll and take it with me to class too!

The reason why I waited until now is I knew they do free international shipping once in a while, and now is the time! For those of you who don’t live in the States, it’s time! It’s going to save you about USD20 for shipping (depends where you live I guess!).

This Black Friday Free Worldwide Shipping program will last until Nov 23! So hurry up♥ Have fun shopping♥

Makeup School finally started!! … a month ago…

If you have read my blog before, you probably know I would be taking a makeup course in Japan at Kanebo Makeup Institute♥

And about 4 weeks ago, it finally started!
It’s the “Standard Course”, the most basic one, that is good for all beginners!
The first class covered some administrative issues, and we learnt the basics like cleansing, skincare and base makeup.
The second class, we kinda covered everything from cleansing to full makeup, we even did a photo shoot with the makeup we did on ourselves! We had a slideshow session, showing our makeups one and one, it’s just so interesting to see the different color choices we had, different styles and all that! I would love to share that picture, however I won’t have it until I graduate from the course…
The most exciting part of the first class was getting all the products from Kanebo♥♥ I got tons of things, everything you name, its in the package! Pretty everything we need!
Last week, we did makeup on a doll (yes! again!) Its my second, so compare with the first one I did, I think I definitely did better on the brows. However, since it was kinda late, so I rushed a little and messed up the lips…and eyeshadow!
To see the one I did before school started, click here
I am still having a l lot of fun, its hard but I am excited to see the better me in the future (hopefully!) I just can’t wait, there’s just so much to learn!
If you girls are ever in Tokyo, please please be my makeup model♡♡
I will have to practice a lot!!!
